Silver flexible circuits create narrow traces on PET
The capability to print high-performing Silver Flexible Circuits on economical polyester substrates with traces as narrow as 0.13mm (.005”) and spacing as small as 0.13mm (.005”) has been developed by Molex. The process creates a viable, cost-effective alternative to traditional flexible circuits, etched copper traces on polyimide and PCBs.
CAN FD Integration on PCBs
A simple possibility of implementing CAN FD in custom hardware designs is now offered by PEAK-System with the stamp module PCAN-Chip USB. The connection to the circuits is enabled via USB 2.0. The actual used physical CAN transmission is determined by the transceiver to be implemented by the developer.
Low profile LEDs offer super bright red option
A comprehensive range of low profile, surface mount LEDs from Kingbright is now available at specialist distributors JPR Electronics. These products are just 1.1mm high, have a viewing angle 120° and are available in red, green, yellow and blue colours with a super bright red option. The LEDs are available in 0603, 0805 and 1206 packages and supplied on full 8mm reels ready for automated assembly.
India’s LED potting problem solved in 24 hours
An LED lighting unit potting problem has been solved by Electrolube’s Indian subsidiary, following consultations with the company’s UK-based technical division. The resin encapsulation was causing an unacceptable colour shift in the light from an LED strip luminaire, and the UK technical team had little more than 24 hours to come up with a solution.
Connectors designed for automotive applications
