Advanced DC/DC converters simplify power system design
With the increased use of electronics across industrial, transportation and medical applications, designers of the supporting power subsystems need to ensure high performance in physically and electrically demanding environments, while also meeting strict regulatory and safety requirements. At the same time, they must stay within ever tightening budget and design schedule constraints. Rolf Horn, Applications Engineer at Digi-Key Electronics, expl...
IoT Security Foundation launches vulnerability disclosure platform for IoT industry
An online platform designed to help IoT vendors receive, assess, manage and mitigate vulnerability reports has been launched by the IoT Security Foundation (IoTSF).VulnerableThings.comaims to simplify the reporting and management of vulnerabilities whilst helping IoT vendors comply with new consumer IoT security standards and regulations.
Drivers for high-power continuous wave laser diodes
PicoLAS introduced two new drivers of the LDP-CW 250-40 series to offer efficient control of high-performance continuous wave laser diodes. The electronics are housed in an ultra-compact casing and achieve an output power of 10kW at a power density of 5W/cm³. At an efficiency of 94%, both models generate a maximum output current of 250A and an output voltage of up to 40V.
Managing end-to-end data flow is the key to IoT success
“Industries worldwide are facing unprecedented and rapid expansion as the number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices is expected to grow to over 75 billion by 2025 and achieve a market worth US $14 trillion worldwide by 2030. Despite this, a staggering 76% of IoT projects either stall at the proof-of-concept stage or fail to achieve their objectives,” said Martin Killian, Sr. IoT Solutions Architect at Speedcast.
