RF receiver offers adaptive preselector
An RF receiver providing a high performance solution for the interception of RF signals has been introduced by IZT. Instead of standard solutions with fixed filters, the R3500 offers a highly linear, flexible preselector with electronically configurable start- and stop frequencies. Modern, automatic signal classifiers are able to simultaneously analyse several MHz of spectrum for any signals of interest.
Non-isolated digital PoL standard ranges from 6 to 18A
Architects of Modern Power (AMP Group) consortium has announced a recent standard aimed at establishing common mechanical and electrical specifications for the development of advanced power conversion technology for distributed power systems. The ‘picoAMP’ standard, designed for the lower range of the spectrum for board-level conversion needs, provides customers with a non-isolated standards platform ranging from 6 to 18A. The standar...
Phase change material enables non-volatile optical memory
The first all-optical permanent on-chip memory has been developed by scientists at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the universities of Münster, Oxford, and Exeter. This is an important step on the way towards optical computers. Phase change materials that change their optical properties depending on the arrangement of the atoms allow for the storage of several bits in a single cell.
