Analysis of WiFi data generates 3D images of the vicinity
Scientists at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) have developed a holographic imaging process that depicts the radiation of a WiFi transmitter to generate 3D images of the surrounding environment. Industrial facility operators could use this to track objects as they move through the production hall.Just like peering through a window, holograms project a seemingly three-dimensional image.
Substrate & micro assembly at IMS 2017
NEO Techwill showcase itshigh-reliability substrate and microelectronic assembly capabilitiesat the 2017 International Microwave Symposium - June 6-8 - at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu.
Wideband RF synthesisers feature design and versatility
Analog Devices have announced the ADF5356, a 13.6 GHz next-generation wideband synthesiser with integrated voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO).The synthesiser targets applications such as wireless infrastructure, microwave point-to-point links, electronic test and measurement, and satellite terminals. A complimentary synthesiser product, the ADF4356, operates to 6.8GHz and is comparable in performance.
Antenna design seminar whets the appetite in Tokyo
NI AWR software will be featured at Wireless Technology Park (WTP) 2017, being staged Tokyo (May 24-26). In addition to software demonstrations of NI AWR Design Environment V13 and AntSyn, a 40-minute antenna design seminar will also be offered.
New converter series sets performance benchmarks
A new series of high speed analogue-to-digital converters (A/D converters) have been introduced by Analog Devices, and as part of this series the company has released the AD9208, which has been engineered for gigahertz-bandwidth applications. This A/D converter meets the increased spectral efficiency demands of 4G/5G multi-band wireless communications base stations. It also meets the reduced run-time targets of multi-standard production instrumenta...
Method improves accuracy of frequency measurements
Accurate frequency measurements are of crucial importance in many scientific and technological applications. To analyse biologically relevant molecules, for instance, one measures the frequencies at which the atomic nuclei react to electromagnetic waves. Using new measurement procedures based on quantum mechanics, it is now even possible to do such analyses with tiny probes that can be placed in the immediate vicinity of tissues and cells.
PXI switching solutions feature at IMS 2017
A broad catalogue of PXI and Ethernet LXI RF & Microwave switching solutions will be displayed by Pickering Interfaces IEEE MTT-S 2017 International Microwave Symposium (IMS) (June 6 – 9). Pickering’s RF & Microwave Switching solutions range from low-level DC signals to RF and Microwave.
