Stay lit with open LED protectors
A range of open LED protectors has been introduced by Littelfuse, the PLEDxN series. These surface mount devices, which are designed for use with high-brightness, 1W LEDs with a nominal 350mA current at 3V, provide a switching electronic shunt path when an LED in an LED string or array fails as an open circuit. They are designed to reset automatically if the LED heals itself or the power is cycled.
Ethernet gigabit switch targets embedded applications
A customisable Gigabit Ethernet Switch module for industrial, commercial and building automation data services has been introduced by LDD Technology. The standard LDD-ES8 module is an 8 port unmanaged Ethernet Switch on a PC/104-Plus form factor intended for use in embedded applications.
Customisable Ethernet switch designed for embedded applications
The introduction of the LDD-ES8, a customisable gigabit Ethernet switch module for industrial, commercial and building automation data services, has been announced by LDD Technology. The standard LDD-ES8 module is an 8 port unmanaged Ethernet Switch on a PC/104-Plus form factor intended for use in embedded applications. It features a high performance, low latency, switch able to handle full-rate gigabit packets on all ports simultaneously.
Beam forming module opens new vistas for lighting engineers
Plessey’s ORION beam forming module is now being distributed globally by Mouser Electronics. The Orion PLWS3000 series module represented a size and performance breakthrough for LED lighting modules giving architectural and industrial lighting designers a new level of design freedom. By integrating the LED and optics into a tiny module, the Orion module delivers over 3000 lumens from a unit just 5.6mm thick and 82mm in diameter.
High thermal epoxy molding compound
Kyocera has developed a high-thermal-conductivity epoxy molding compound with a thermal conductivity of 6W/mK. This is said to mark a significant increase in the conventional thermal conductivity of 0.9-3W/mK and thus enhances the protection of semiconductor components from light, temperature, humidity, dust and physical shock.
Single-chip high-power LEDs target handheld lighting market
Manufacturer of lighting and sensing products and components, Plessey, is now targeting handheld and portable lighting applications. When lighting is dependent on battery power, the benefit of a single-chip that can outperform the standard four-chip by 30% is clear to see.Plessey LEDs utilise its MaGIC GaN-on-Silicon technology to provide high-power LED components and system-level lighting solutions, from blue die through to complete luminaires.
Harvard Technology adds DALI variants to programmable driver range
Harvard Technology has launched its latest innovations in the CoolLED programmable driver range, adding both a 40W and 50W Dali Low Voltage SELV variant in the CLS case platform to what is a growing programmable range. The power factor corrected, fully isolated SELV output Dali drivers, are initially available in two variants – 200-700mA and 700-1400mA – delivering up to 40W and 50W of power respectively.
PXI switching solutions feature at IMS 2017
A broad catalogue of PXI and Ethernet LXI RF & Microwave switching solutions will be displayed by Pickering Interfaces IEEE MTT-S 2017 International Microwave Symposium (IMS) (June 6 – 9). Pickering’s RF & Microwave Switching solutions range from low-level DC signals to RF and Microwave.
Electronic displays centre grows as new machines expand portfolio
The Electronic DisplaysCentre is currently growing as the company, Wammes & Partner has had new large machines installed.Together with its associated team, it is extending the possibilities in the Electronic Display Centre to include additional processes in the areas of high vacuum (room temperature to high temperature), organic and inorganic coatings as well as solid state processes with high frequency activation.
New LED warning beacons brighter than 5J Xenon strobe
A comprehensive range of LED beacons have been developed by E2S Warning Signals for use as warning beacons and status indicators for systems installed in hazardous areas and industrial environments. The LED units, using a multiple array of high power white Cree LEDs, offer significant advantages over traditional Xenon strobe technology in many applications.
