Method offers transmission through terahertz multiplexer
Multiplexing, the ability to send multiple signals through a single channel, is a fundamental feature of any voice or data communication system. An international research team has demonstrated for the first time a method for multiplexing data carried on terahertzwaves, high-frequency radiation that may enable the next generation of ultra-high bandwidth wireless networks.
Backhaul delivered for Coca-Cola London Eye’s new WiFi
It has been announced by Cambridge Communication Systems (CCS) that it is providing backhaul for the Coca-Cola London Eye’s new WiFi service, which enables customers to access high-speed internet and new interactive applications while riding in the popular London observation wheel.CCS’s Metnet 28GHz self-organising microwave backhaul was selected by O2, which is delivering the WiFi service on behalf of Merlin Entertainments – th...
RF MLCCs offer 200°C operating temp in small cases
Surface-mount multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) for high frequency RF and microwave applications claimed to be the first to offer an operating temperature range to +200°C have been launched by Vishay Intertechnology. For telecom base stations and military communication systems, the Vishay Vitramon VJ HIFREQ HT series provides ultra-high Q and low ESR in four compact case sizes.
RF/microwave design tour heads for Asia/Pacific
The seventh annual ADF Asia Pacific tour featuring NI AWR Design Environment will visit key cities in India, Korea, China and Taiwan during September and October. Registration for these events is now open and paper submissions are invited.
AC/DC inverters provide up to 4500VA
Power supply specialist Powersolve announces its PJN series of AC/DC sine wave inverters which provide between 1000VA and 4500VA from a DC input between 40 to 60VDC. They also take 230VAC mains input enabling them to operate in a UPS mode and switch over to 48VDC batteries automatically when the incoming mains fails. This make the PJN Series suitable for telecoms systems that use a 230VAC input supply and 48VDC battery back-up.
Connectors and adapters provide maximum operating frequency
Fairview Microwave has released 18 new4.3-10 connectors and adapterswith low-PIM performance of -166 dBc typical and a maximum operating frequency of 6GHz. Typical applications include wireless base stations, small cells, custom cable assemblies, antenna feeder cables, mobile communications systems and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS).
Waveguide phase shifters provide 1dB maximum insertion loss
Provider of RF, microwave and millimetre wave products, Pasternack, has launched a new line of waveguide phase shifters in sizes ranging from WR-42 to WR-10. Typical applications include instrumentation, test benches, product development and characterisation.Pasternack’s new series of waveguide phase shifters is comprised of seven models that operate in the frequency range of 18-110GHz and in seven waveguide bands from K to W band.
