Reed Sensors for Automotive LED Applications
Automakers are increasingly adopting LEDs as a preferred solution for internal indicator lights, running lights, tail lights, and other applications in which incandescent bulbs were previously used. The reasoning behind this switch is fivefold: LEDs can lower warranty costs, they draw less average current, they do not have an initial turn-on surge current, they allow for component reduction, and offer a more reliable and longer working life. Quencharc, Arc Suppression Series expanded by Cornell
Cornell Dubilier revealed that it has expanded its Quencharc, Q/QRL Series of arc suppressors to include 3 times as many ratings and values as it had previously offered. Dubbed with the trade name Quencharc, Type Q/QRL snubber networks are comprised of a capacitor and resistor in series.
GIGAVAC launches 20kv Double Pole Double Throw High Voltage Relay
The G24WF, a 20kV Double Pole Double Throw relay, announced by GIGAVAC. The G24WF features tungsten-molybdenum contacts with a unique gas mixture that makes it ideal as a relay for switching in high voltage loads. Make only load switching is primarily found in circuits discharging a capacitor or safety for interlocks. GIGAVAC also offers specialized testing for applications such as ESD loads where consistently repeatable output is required.
Toshiba Introduces Ultra-Compact Photorelay with Low Trigger Current
Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched a semiconductor photorelay (MOSFET output photocoupler*) that combines a very low turn-on current with an ultra-compact form factor. The new TLP175A is particularly suitable for designs that demand high-reliability switching and improved efficiency while saving board space.
Ametherm announce inrush current limiting NTC thermistors
Ametherm announce a new series of inrush current limiting NTC thermistors designed to withstand high steady-state currents from 6 A to 50 A and 250 J to 800 J of input energy in a wide range of applications. Recognized by UL for ensured safety, AS Series devices provide lower current density, faster reset times, and a wider temperature range without derating compared with traditional inrush current limiters.
DDC launches the 28V, 32-Channel, Light-Weight Solid-State Power Controller
Data Device Corporation launches the RP-2032151XD0, a 32-Channel, Light-Weight Solid-State Power Controller. The RP-2032151XD0 provides a total continuous current output capacity of 120 amps at 28Vdc in a 3-lb box, along with a high channel count and advanced programmability. The RP-2032 product family offers users significant Size, Weight, Power and Cost (SWaP-C) savings in addition to improved reliability and smart power control.
