SoC supports digital & analogue position sensors
Expanding the company's C2000 Delfino MCU portfolio, Texas Instruments has introduced what is claimed to be the industry’s first on-chip solution supporting both analogue and digital position sensors. The TMS320F28379D and TMS320F28379S MCUs, when combined with DesignDRIVE Position Manager technology, enable simple interfacing to position sensors.
Boards galore to feature at Rome exhibition
Maker Faire Rome will be the destination for Farnell element14 to demonstrate the potential ofsome of its most popular Single Board Computers. The distributor will use the show to demonstrate the CodeBug, Gizmo 2, Raspberry Pi and MATLAB software bundle and the BeagleBone Black.
SoC developer forum to address next-gen embedded computing
Altera has announced the launch of the Altera SoC Developers Forum (ASDF). These inaugural events in Silicon Valley; Frankfurt, Germany; and Shenzhen, China bring together partners, developers and engineers who are focused on using the fine-grained heterogeneous computing technology in ARM-based SoC FPGAs to address next-gen embedded computing applications.
Project starter kit uses MATLAB, Raspberry Pi combination
The MATLABand SimulinkStudent Suite – Raspberry Pi Bundle which includes the Raspberry Pi Starter Kit and the MATLAB and Simulink Student Suite from MathWorks is on sale at Farnell element14. It allows a student or self learner to conveniently start their project with model-based block diagrams on the Raspberry Pi 2 using the same tools commercial engineers and scientists use every day.
What can we expect for the semiconductor industry?
Yole Développement and Serma Technologies are organising Successful Semiconductor Fabless 2015 (SSF 2015), the third edition of the conference, to explore the semiconductor supply chain, analyse business trends and technical challenges and highlight success stories. SSF 2015 will take place in Novotel Paris Vaugirard Montparnasse, Paris from 4th to 6th November.
Dev kit speeds development of Renesas MCUs
Synopsys has expanded its Virtualizer Development Kit (VDK) portfolio for Renesas' RH850 MCU with a virtual prototype for the RH850/P1x series targeting chassis ECUs. The latest virtual prototype builds upon the existing VDK for Renesas RH850 MCUs, which includes support for the F1x, E1x and C1x series MCUs.
Instrument enhanced with MATLAB file saving
Yokogawa has released firmware Version 3.20 for the DL850 ScopeCorder series of instruments, which combine the features of a high-speed oscilloscope and those of a traditional data acquisition recorder in a single, portable instrument. A key feature of the new firmware is direct file saving into the Mathworks MATLAB(R) data analysis and visualisation environment, offering users quicker and easier import of measurement data.
5G simulation library enhances upgraded software
A new version of its premier system-level electronic design automation software, SystemVue 2015.01 has been released by Keysight Technologies. The release delivers the industry’s first commercial 5G simulation reference library, as well as direct integration of MATLAB Script from the MathWorks.
Collaboration enables smarter model-based design
Wind River is working with MathWorks to integrate Wind River Simics with Simulink for improved model-based design workflows. This collaboration creates smarter system verification by enabling testing and co-simulation of combined design and platform models, and helps drive better designs while removing risk from future development, test, and integration.
Collaboration platform supports engineers & enterprises
Designed for enterprises building modern software products, IoT devices and digital media, the Helix SCM and content collaboration platform has been introduced by Perforce Software. The platform provides enterprises with distributed workflows, Git management, advanced threat detection and new deployment options.
