Quantum Technology to be on show and in action at UK Industry Showcase

Exhibitors from industry, academia, and government will demonstrate how they’re using quantum science to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the automotive sector, healthcare, infrastructure, telecommunications, cyber security, and defence.

As well as talks from leading academics from around the world on the cutting-edge research in quantum, there’ll also be live demonstrations from the likes of:

• Quantum Communications Hub: A future-focused organisation dedicated to accelerating the development and commercialisation of communications technologies that use quantum science for dramatically increased security
• CPI TMD: The world-leading manufacturer of high-tech microwave technology, using quantum science to create the next generation of atomic clocks, gravity sensors, and navigation systems
• Phasecraft: A quantum algorithms company and software partner with the world’s leading quantum hardware companies including Google and IBM
• Riverlane: A company focused on correcting the millions of data errors that prevent today’s generation of quantum computers from reaching their full potential for usefulness
• QuantIC: The UK Quantum Technology Hub focused on Quantum Enhanced Imaging, bringing about the next generation of imaging technologies
• Toshiba Europe: A world-leader in quantum communication technologies showing off state-of-the-art components and systems

The event, organised by Innovate UK, the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme (UKNQTP), and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), will also feature talks from George Freeman MP,  Minister of State in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, and Prof Dame Ottoline Leyser, Chief Executive of UK Research, and Innovation.

Dr Kedar Pandya, Chair of the National Quantum Technologies Programme Board and Executive Director at EPSRC, says: “Quantum technologies have the potential to change the future, and that potential is being realised right here in the UK.

“The leading lights in the development of quantum technologies will all be together on the show-floor at the Quantum Technologies Showcase, demonstrating their progress. The conference is a great opportunity to learn about the opportunities and challenges facing the quantum sector, the exhibition is a chance to see the technologies of the future in action, with your own eyes.”
