Smartphone grip makes holding your phone easier
Smartphones have become as much a part of our daily lives as food and water, maybe more. We rely on these thin handheld supercomputers to keep information flowing from our fingertips at the speed of business and to stay connected to the bustling world around us. The problem is that these sleek and beautiful devices are constantly evolving to become larger, thinner and immensely harder to hold.
For all their usefulness, they completely miss the mark on ergonomics and integration with the very hands required to operate them.
This week in Las Vegas at the enormous CES 2016, DMD Products, a young company from Texas led by serial startup entrepreneur Mike Watts, will address this smartphone shortfall with the launch of its retail line of universal stick-on straps for smartphones and cases under the brand name LoveHandle - Get a Handle on the device you Love. Watts says that their goal is to comfortably bridge the gap between humans and their beloved smartphone companions, transforming iPhones and Androids into truly wearable devices.
As part of the 2016 retail launch, the first 50,000 attendees at the largest mobile electronics show in the world will receive a free LoveHandle smartphone grip in their show daily magazine. “Our research shows that when consumers personally experience the enhanced functionality and ease of use of a wearable smartphone, they’ll never want to return to their days having to grip one,” explains Mr. Watts.
“With a retail price of $7.95 this massive giveaway represents a value of $400,000 in free phone grips for show attendees and we believe that it’s a wise investment because a personal 'test drive' is most effective way to share what the LoveHandle experience is all about.”
LoveHandle is part of a quickly growing new smartphone accessories category including the Pop-Socket and Lazy-Hands who are all exhibiting at CES. These aftermarket peel-n-stick enhancement gadgets generally utilise 3M adhesives for residue-free universal bonding. Retailers, who are hungry for new products to build add-on sales in the accessories space, will likely take notice in this trend with their product assortments for 2016.
