Avnet has announced a new add-in for Autodesk Fusion, transforming the engineering workflow by offering the tools needed to make informed decisions about designs and components in one place.

The app provides direct acccess to reference designs and schematics within the design environment, ensuring function, cost, and availability are aligned throughout the product lifecycle. It also provides design engineers with inventory access and expert engineering support to bring designs to life.

“With Avnet’s App, engineers gain unmatched efficiency—accessing schematics, optimising workflows, and making component decisions in as little as three clicks,” said Chris Jackson, VP, Digital Strategy and Innovation, Avnet.

Engineering workflows can be enhanced with three key capabilities:

  1. A library of more than 1,500 curated reference designs, complete with schematics and block diagrams. The designs are downloadable and ready to integrate into Fusion projects. The library also includes symbols for key products, as well as the typical circuit that surrounds them. It is ideal for jumpstarting, refining or customising designs. By leveraging these pre-designed resources, engineers can save time, reduce complexity and focus on innovation
  2. Cost and availability features that provide instant access to pricing and availability for components. These include BOM optimisation tools powered by advanced algorithms to evaluate price, lead time, and lifecycle constraints. Design engineers can also collaborate directly with Avnet representatives to explore competitive pricing options and supply chain efficiencies. This ultimately ensures engineers can optimise budgets, reduce lead times, and select the best components for their needs
  3. Parametric search which simplifies component selection with advanced search capabilities. The app allows design engineers to find alternates and swap them with existing devices in their schematics. They can also compare components based on price, availability, and lead time with easy access to datasheets, symbols and footprints. With these tools, engineers can streamline workflows, make informed decisions, and deliver high-quality results efficiently
