Mician is a developer of EDA software tools for the analysis, synthesis, and optimisation of passive components like feeding networks, couplers, multiplexers as well as of horn antennas, parabolic, hyperbolic, and ellipsoid antennas.

Mician’s µWave Wizard software products combine flexibility with speed and accuracy. The fast and easy composition of complex RF structures using basic building blocks eliminates the need for creating a full-up 3D model of the entire structure. Features such as ‘Filter Workbench’ for rapid filter development, ‘Mesh Morphing’ for faster 3D FEM optimisations or the ‘2D BOR FEM Solver’ for accelerated design of rotationally symmetrical structures, speed up the development process enormously.

With the upcoming release of µWave Wizard a new ‘Coupling Matrix’ synthesis for filters will be introduced. It includes interactive filter tuning with sliders, making adjustments more intuitive and precise. Users benefit from comprehensive filter coupling matrix synthesis, extraction, and optimisation as part of µWave Wizard’s ideal filter library.

Mesh truncation boundaries of radiating structures can be treated as waveguide ports supporting spherical modes in many cases. This saves substantial memory requirement and CPU time, especially for structures made of lossless, isotropic materials, for both 3D and BOR FEM solvers. Optionally, these mesh truncation boundaries are now automatically generated.

A new flexible library element for helix antennas offers the choice between ribbon and wire type, cylindrical and conical coils, various tapping options, cup shielding and metal support rod.

Support for multiple, simultaneous port excitations in the post-processing of the NTL3D viewer has been added, simplifying the visualisation of the power distribution of multiple-fed. antennas.

New field plot options and variable assignments for power loss density, energy density, gap voltage, and power flows have been introduced to enhance design visualisation and optimisation.

Additional enhancements include faster simulation of inhomogeneous waveguides with many modes, improved meshing of modeler elements with small, complex shapes and a more fault-tolerant behaviour of 3D mesh morphing regarding topology changes.

At EuMW 2024, Mician will preview the latest µWave Wizard version which will be released later in 2024. And in celebration of the 25th anniversary of exhibiting at European Microwave Week, Mician announces a time limited offer, with special software packages and prices.
