With its VDO ContiSys product range, Continental offers garages high performance multi brand diagnostic devices and detailed information to facilitate the finding and repair of faults.
Frankfurt. The VDO ContiSys range of devices produced by automotive supplier Continental is designed especially to cater to the everyday demands of garage operations. The ContiSys OBD, for instance, is tailored specifically to maintenance and repair work. It is small, convenient and easy to use. When it comes to the completion of routine tasks, the ContiSys OBD, offering simple and swift access to major service-related functions, is the perfect aid to both independent garages and dedicated dealerships, not to mention tyre service operations and car body shops. In conjunction with Continental’s wide range of replacement parts, garages need therefore look no further in order to implement successful repairs from a single source.

The ContiSys Scan is just as intuitive to use as the ContiSys OBD. It covers a broad range of models from over 30 car manufacturers and assists a large number of electronics systems installed in modern cars - from ABS and comfort systems to engine control devices. On-screen information is easy to read off the large, high contrast, and backlit display, even in adverse conditions. The Multiplexer and the CAN Controller are integrated in the device. If required model-specific adapter cables are available for cars built later than 1996. The ContiSys Scan is perfect for all garages that value quick, uncomplicated and comprehensive communications with automotive electronics.

The PC-based ContiSys VCI diagnostic system enables garages to manage their diagnostic and fault finding work flows even more effectively - for appreciable savings. The system is made up of the interface unit (VCI) and the DSI diagnostic software. In terms of control unit diagnostics, the system offers a similar range of function to the ContiSys Scan. Continental is moreover working on the TecDoc-based linking of diagnostic, repair and parts information. ContiSys VCI is therefore the perfect solution for all garages wishing to address complicated problems linked to automotive electronics.

The optional software update service ContiSys Update Plus can be booked for all ContiSys diagnostic systems. This means the diagnostic software is always up to date.

Finding faults in modern cars is becoming increasingly complicated. By way of additional assistance Continental offers the ContiSys Data service package. This is a comprehensive information system featuring technical data, circuit diagrams, removal and installation advice, fault symptoms and suggested solutions. The info pack, which is available both off- and online, is complemented by a reliable hotline offering expert advice on technical issues associated with automotive technology. Garages can therefore access replacement parts, device technology and information on fault diagnoses and successful repairs from a single source.
