Aeroflex adds DC-HSUPA Support to the TM500 Test Mobile
Aeroflex has revealed that the TM500 Test Mobile is the first to market to support full protocol stack user equipment emulation that enables network testing and measurements for the DC-HSUPA (Dual Cell High-Speed Upload Packet Access) standard specified in 3GPP W-CDMA Release 9. DC-HSUPA allows a UE to simultaneously transmit data over two independent enhanced uplink data channels, boosting both the uplink data rate and the network capacity, enabling maximum per-UE uplink data rates approaching 23Mbps - effectively doubling the maximum rate.
The Once again the Aeroflex TM500 family has continued its evolution to track the latest 3GPP standards wireless network operators wish to follow, said Tim Beard, WCDMA Product Manager at Aeroflex. As with dual cell in the downlink, we expect the new DC-HSUPA standard to be widely adopted by operators who are looking for ways to improve the performance and extend the life of their existing networks at minimal cost. The TM500 is the first test mobile to support the DC-HSUPA feature.
