Telematics system provides an abundance of I/Os
Avalue has unveiled a modular, in-vehicle, embedded telematics system, VMS-BYT. Offering easy assembly and maintenance, VMS-BYT is a rugged system which increases stability and environmental tolerance, suitable for applications including fleet telematics, passenger infotainment, and in-vehicle surveillance on board commuter shuttles, long distance coaches, and vehicle fleets.
VMS-BYT is powered by the Intel Atom E3845SoC Processor and supports one 204-pin DDR3L SODIMM system memory with up to 8GB DDR3L 1333MHz SDRAM capacity. VMS-BYT offers a range of I/Os, including one VGA, one LVDS, one DC-out, one 8-bit GPIO, one CFast or mSATA, one 2.5” swappable drive bay, two Line-out and two Mic-in, two USB2.0, one USB3.0, two COM and five Antenna mountings.
VMS-BYT also offers dual Gigabit Ethernet with two Intel I211ATs, and dual displays with resolutions of, in VGA mode, 2560x1080px at 60Hz, and in LVDS mode, 1600x1200px at 60Hz. Audio interface is provided with a Realtek ALC892, supporting 5.1-CH.
VMS-BYT is suitable for a variety of vehicle types, such as buses, trucks, ambulances, taxis and fire engines. Product reliability and stability are certified by industrial product quality tests. Anti-vibration and anti-shock is compliant with the US army's MIL-STD-810G grade and CE, FCC and e13 marks for EU.
Users can choose CPU and chipset according to application needs or budget , and connection is provided between the main and daughter boards by IET concept interface.
VMS-BYT can withstand industrial operating temperatures between -40 and +75°C. The device supports a stable 9-36VIN, with anti-interference capability and short circuit overload protection.
A front access swappable drive bay and service windows help enable easy maintenance of the Mini PCIe card, CAN module, DRAM and storage. The efficient design provides a TPD of lower than 10W for the processor and 17W when the computer is running on full power.
