Product safety testing lab opens in US
Element Materials Technology has launched product safety testing in the US to offer clients a single supplier source for EMC testing, product safety testing, product certifications and global approval services. The service is being provided from Element’s laboratory located in Irvine, California.
The Group is also offering the full suite of product safety services to clients across the United States via its on-site testing program.
The Element Irvine laboratory recently achieved NVLAP accreditation covering 60601-1 (safety of medical devices), 60950 (safety of information technology equipment) and 61010-1 (safety of laboratory and measurement equipment).
Element is NVLAP and UKAS accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and ISO/IEC 17065:2012, a Notified Body for a number of the key European Directives, as well as an IECEE National Certification Body and an IECEE Certification Body Test Laboratory under the IECEE CB Scheme.
These accreditations assist manufacturers in achieving improved access to domestic and international markets resulting in successful product launches.
Rick Sluiters, EVP for Aerospace commented: ‘’We are very excited to launch this service to our US client base, complementing our extensive product safety services in the UK. The acquisition of Northwest EMC last year turned us into a global leader of the EMC market and now we are delighted to introduce our industry leading safety PQT capabilities alongside these services, providing our clients, wherever they are located, with a single source supplier for their testing needs.’’
The Irvine laboratory services a large number of medical device manufacturers with a wide-range of testing services including product safety testing, software life cycle evaluation, usability, as well as EMC testing for medical devices.
Additionally, the facility supports manufacturers of information technology, laboratory and measurement equipment in product safety for domestic and international markets.
