Tactical Grade Mems Inertial Measurement Unit
Inertial Aerosystems has introduced what is claimed to be the world's first MEMS based true tactical inertial measurement unit. Designated the SD1500, it is manufactured by U.S. based Systron Donner Inertial. The exceptional performance of this product (1°/hr) is based on a new generation of SDI's proven quartz MEMS inertial sensor technology. The quartz technology enables high volume production of precisely machined sensor structures combined with the inherent large signal output and thermal stability of quartz materials.
The Operating temperature range is -55 to 85 degrees C. High quality components with high speed advanced signal processing deliver an in-run drift of less than 1 degree per hour. Ideal where space and weight are at a premium it measure 73.6 cm x 73.6 cm and weighs.589 Kg.
The SDI500 has been tested and is rated for rugged military underwing captive carry vibration and full military temperature range operation. It is ideal for tactical aerospace, munitions and platform stabilisation applications. Although primarily designated for the military market, it has many commercial applications.
