MDTP Enhances TD-LTE Protocol Conformance Tests
Anritsu’s ME7834 Mobile Device Test Platform (MDTP) offers the highest number of validated protocol conformance test cases for TD-LTE, including interworking with TD-SCDMA and GSM. Confirmation was provided by the Global Certification Forum (GCF) at the recent Conformance and Interoperability Agreement Group (CAG) Meeting #35 held in Lexington, KY, and complements the established success of the ME7834 in LTE FDD conformance.
As the largest mobile network operator in China begins to build its national TD-LTE network, and additional operators in the Americas and Asia build out their own networks. Anritsu provides full coverage for TD-LTE protocol conformance in the ME7834, including 3GPP Release 8 and Release 9 capability.
At the same time, Anritsu has announced TD-LTE, the Time Division Duplex (TDD) variant of LTE, has increased dramatically in importance as its first Release 10 LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) Carrier Aggregation (CA) test case submissions to the RAN5 working group in 3GPP, demonstrating a strength in protocol conformance that extends across current 2G, 3G, and leading-edge LTE technology. As with the protocol conformance test cases, the CA test cases run on the ME7834.
Anritsu’s new RAN5 protocol submissions follow its recent world first in validating RF conformance test cases for CA in PTCRB. RAN5 verification paves the way for protocol test validations and the inclusion of this technology in GCF and PTCRB certification. Anritsu’s ME7834 is a flexible test system focused on both Protocol Conformance Test (PCT) and Carrier Acceptance Test (CAT).
Users worldwide have selected the ME7834 for coverage of thousands of LTE and UTRAN test cases to ensure that devices operate properly in a variety of network deployments. This market-leading test platform includes test packages for LTE protocol conformance and carrier acceptance covering multiple North American and Asian operators. Test coverage available on the ME7834 includes multiple leading LTE/LTE-A technologies, including Carrier Aggregation and VoLTE. The ME7834 is GCF- and PTCRB-validated, as well as carrier-approved.
