Lauterbach TRACE32 for TI’s AM6xAx vision processors
Lauterbach TRACE32 development tools now also support the Texas Instruments AM62Ax, AM68A and AM69A SoC series.
This includes simultaneous debugging of the heterogeneous CPU cores as well as non-intrusive CPU trace capture for functional safety certification. The TI AM6xAx series are built for a set of cost-sensitive automotive applications including driver and in-cabin monitoring systems, next-generation of eMirror systems, as well as a broad set of industrial applications in Factory Automation, Building Automation, and other markets.
The SoCs contain up to eight Arm Cortex-A72 respective four Arm Cortex-A53 cores, up to two Vision Processing Accelerators (VPAC) with Image Signal Processor (ISP) and multiple vision assist accelerators, video accelerators, Cortex-R5F MCU Channel cores and Cortex-R5F Device Management cores. Key cores include also up to four C75x DSPs with scalar and vector cores, which work as dedicated ‘MMA’ deep learning accelerators enabling performance up to 32 TOPS.
Lauterbach's TRACE32 enables simultaneous debugging and tracing of Arm Cortex-A application processors, Cortex-R real-time processors cores and C75x DSP cores to cover the whole system. This unique capability provided by TRACE32 only is essential for safety-related certifications according to IEC 61508 and ISO 26262 and for achieving the targeted safety levels SIL 3 and ASIL D respectively.
TRACE32® tools consist of the universal PowerView debugging and tracing software as well as debug and trace accelerator modules. While Lauterbach’s intelligent PowerDebug modules provide the highest available download speeds and smallest response times for efficient debugging and test automation, PowerTrace real-time trace modules provide full insights of what the CPU and DSP cores of an AM6xAx system are doing without impacting its real-time performance in any way. For system profiling or safety certification, trace analysis including code coverage measurements is essential. In many other use cases, it can support in bringing embedded designs to market faster, safer, and more reliably than ever.
Lauterbach’s TRACE32 enables developers of automotive applications like Driver Monitoring Systems, Occupancy Monitoring Systems, eMirror/Camera Mirror Systems, and Front Camera Systems as well as industrial applications like autonomous mobile robots and machine vision to evolve applications at AM6xAx SoCs even faster and easier.
