The future is looking bright for wine lovers as manufacturer of high quality steam appliances, V-ZUG, has announced an ‘External Vacuuming’ feature, designed to preserve wine like never before. This new technology is designed as an add-on feature to the Vacuisine Vacuum Drawer by V-ZUG. So why should wine fans get excited about this new innovation? The External Vacuuming feature facilitates the removal of air from wine and other glass bottles which contain liquids like oil or sparkling water: suitable for when you just can’t finish the bottle.

This vacuuming process successfully prevents any air from coming into contact with the fluid, thus preserving the quality and taste of your wine so you can return to it a day or two after. Should you have the will power then red wine will keep for up to ten days later, with white and sparkling wines losing brightness, colour and flavour after about a week.

Announced last month, V-ZUG’s Vacuum drawer can also be used for ‘Dry Storage’, extracting air from commercially available vacuum containers to preserve foodstuffs like unfinished savouries, dried fruits or leftovers: provided the containers are vacuum safe and non-toxic to food.

The product is easy to use; simply open the lid of the V-ZUG Vacuum Drawer and connect your glass receptacle or vac container to the internal drawer tube with the specially supplied adapter.

Once connected, make sure the bottle for external evacuating is on a flat and stable surface near to the vacuum drawer. When you’re ready to start and adapter is connected, select the most suitable vacuuming level for the task in hand with a simple push of a button.

For instance, the following vacuuming levels are available for selection for packaging, marinating, sous vide cooking (Vacuisine), freezing or storing:

Unlike freestanding appliances, this built-in vacuum drawer keeps worktops clear of clutter. It’s sleek, stylish and handle-less fascia means that it can integrate into the kitchen. It can be installed practically anywhere including under the oven for a co-ordinated look. The soft-close drawer measures 14.2x59.6x54.7cm and is available with a black mirror glass fascia.

The Vacuisine Vacuum Drawer is supplied with fifty 180x280mm and fifty 240x350mm vacuum bags.

Now you can preserve your wine, where to store it? Thankfully, V-ZUG also offers the SL 60 Wine Cabinet to ensure a consistent level of design and performance in your home. With a capacity for at least 36 bottles of 0.75l, the SL 60 also has a function for fast cooling white wine and chrome plated support.
