Aeroflex - New Options for 2201 ProLock Phone Tester to Increase WCDMA Test Speed, Add Handover to GSM and HSDPA Test
Aeroflex has added new options to its ProLock 2201 Mobile Phone Test System to help service centers reduce cost with faster and more accurate testing. The WCDMA Speed and Handover upgrade (Option 2235) increases WCDMA test speed by 40 percent and adds the ability to test and perform intersystem handover to GSM. Option 2236 adds HSDPA test capability, increasing the reliability of RF tests. Both options can be added to existing instruments after installing new firmware.
Aero“The ProLock is a complete system that excels in usability, price, and functionality. The addition of these new options expands the application range dramatically by adding tests required by manufacturers,” said Walter Weiss, product manager, Aeroflex Test Solutions. “The WCDMA option is especially critical for larger Level 3 service centers that need higher throughput or require testing of GSM handover capabilities of the device under test.”
About the 2201 ProLock 3G Test Set
The 2201 ProLock is part of an intelligent 3G test system for service of 3G mobile phones and wireless data cards. Level 1 and level 2 service shops use the ProLock to quickly test wireless devices, perform smaller repairs, and bill manufacturers for warranty claims. The ProLock supports GSM, WCDMA and now also HSDPA phones and wireless devices. Today, many mobile phones include WCDMA functionality; consequently, manufacturers are demanding that repair shops include WCDMA testing capability for warranty claims. The ProLock fills the gap between low-cost GSM-only testers and expensive 3G test sets. Additionally, in Level 3 and 4 service centers, the 2201 ProLock can be used for incoming inspection prior to repair, or final test after repair.
The ProLock is approved to test mobile phones from leading vendors. The 2201 ProLock can be used either in manual mode, autotest mode, or under remote control with the 7310 Lector and Scriptor product family.
