Aeroflex and fjord e-design Announce First Implementation of TETRA II Test System on 3920 Digital Radio Test Set
Aeroflex Incorporated, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aeroflex Holding Corp. (NYSE:ARX), and fjord-e-design GmbH announced the first implementation of a TETRA II test system on a portable radio tester, the Aeroflex 3920 Digital Radio Test Set. The test solution allows transmitter and receiver testing of base stations and mobile stations supporting the TETRA Enhanced Data Service (TEDS).
“With this new option, Aeroflex is able to support TETRA engineers in production and in the field to support the new TEDS Air Interface just as the first commercially available products hit the broader market,” said Tom Riedl, Aeroflex product manager, Ismaning, Germany. “By cooperating with fjord-e-design and taking their reference class protocol stacks on board for our instruments, Aeroflex is again proving leadership in TETRA testing.”
The new option for the 3920 Digital Radio Test Set was developed in a joint project with fjord-e-design, a TETRA focused, engineering company located in Flensburg, Germany. fjord e-design offers reference-class protocol stacks for TETRA and other Private Mobile Radio (PMR) standards to the industry.
