ARCCORE is broadening access to the rapidly evolving automotive market with the introduction of a new starter kit for the Texas Instruments (TI) mmWave AWR1642BOOSt EVM sensor which was launched in May 2017. Automotive OEMs increasingly mandate the use of the open AUTOSAR standard in their ECUs where it simplifies development through software reuse and improved code quality and reliability.

Current AUTOSAR solutions, however, are often complex and require a significant initial investment cost. This limits their adoption and in turn, innovation in automotive platforms.

ARCCORE’s starter kit for TI's AWR1642BOOSt EVM mmWave radar sensor includes the market proven Arctic Core basic software, the Arctic Studio tool chain from ARCCORE and a Microcontroller Abstraction Layer (MCAL) from TI.

New starter kit components are available free of charge with a 60-day evaluation license and are fully integrated in a user-friendly integrated development environment (IDE). Combined with the AWR1642BOOSt EVM sensor’s features, broad scalability and software tools, the kit provides a new starting point for developers of traditional and emerging AUTOSAR applications.

Arctic Core contains a full set of features required for Automotive ECUs including communication, diagnostic and ISO 26262 compliant safety services, and a real-time operating system.

Arctic Studio IDE provides a complete software development environment based on the Eclipse framework. The MCAL software components enable access to the MCU’s peripherals including communication and control ports for input/output.

“ARCCORE’s strength in automotive software development is built on advanced software tools and services and a proven track-record with leading OEMs and Tier1s,” said Eric Envall, Vice President AD/ADAS Segment at ARCCORE.

“ARCCORE starter kit which leverages TI’s AWR1642BOOSt EVM sensor demonstrates our unique ability to deliver AUTOSAR solutions for developers of all experience and budget levels.”

“Developers can add precise measurement of range, angle and velocity to their system with TI’s AWR family of mmWave radar sensors to help analyse dynamic operation conditions in automotive applications,” said Sameer Wasson, general manager, TI Radar and Analytics processors.

“With ARCCORE’s starter kit, design engineers can quickly get started developing robust AUTOSAR applications.”
