Microchip announces the MCP9804 Temperature Sensor. The sensor provides high temperature accuracy of +0.25°C (typical) and +/- 1°C from -40 to +125°C, as well as static current consumption of just 200µA (typ). Available in small 8-pin MSOP and 2mm x 3mm DFN packages, the I2C™ device reduces board space and enables longer battery life for industrial, automotive and consumer applications.

MTS Systems Corp., Sensors Division has added the new Model CR Rod & Cylinder sensor to its Temposonics C-Series product line. The cost-optimized Model CR integrates a standard Model CS or CM sensor inside a versatile and rugged thick steel mechanical package, which protects the sensor electronics from mechanical and environmental damage.

Maxim has introduced the MAX11810 and MAX11811, the first touch-interface systems with integrated 4-wire touch-screen controllers, haptic controller drivers, and infrared-based proximity sensing. Designed for applications flexibility, these devices can drive a DC motor directly or piezo elements using an external piezo driver. The MAX11800 and MAX11801 are register-map-compatible versions without haptic controller drivers and proximity sensing.

Honeywell has introduced its TruStability Silicon Pressure Sensors comprised of the HSC (High Accuracy Silicon Ceramic) Series and SSC (Standard Accuracy Silicon Ceramic) Series that offer customers key benefits not found in other silicon pressure sensors currently available.
