Aptina Rolls Out New Full HD 1080P60 Digital Video Sensor With Image Stabilization Support For Consumer Digital Video Applications
Aptina today introduced its new 1/3-inch native full high-definition (HD) 1080p60 video sensor with support for electronic image stabilization (EIS). The sensor can support all HD video modes (1080p60, 1080p30 and 720p60) without losing field of view, a tremendous benefit for consumer pocket digital video (DV), camcorder, web, sports action and video conferencing camera applications.
ON Semiconductor Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire CMOS Image Sensor Business Unit from Cypress
ON Semiconductor and Cypress Semiconductor today announced that a definitive agreement has been signed for ON Semiconductor to acquire the CMOS Image Sensor Business Unit (ISBU) from Cypress in an all cash transaction for approximately $31.4 million. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2011, subject to customary closing conditions.
Rohde & Schwarz introduces the world's first USB-capable wideband power sensors that can measure up to 40 GHz
Rohde & Schwarz is expanding its portfolio of USB-capable power sensors with the new R&S NRP-Z85 and R&S NRP-Z86. These are the world's first wideband sensors to measure power from 50 MHz to 40 GHz without requiring a base unit. Instead of a base unit, the sensors are connected to a PC via a USB interface. This cost-efficient solution displays envelope power over a dynamic range of -47 dBm to +20 dBm, which is unprecedented in the industry. High-...
National Semiconductor Revolutionizes Design of Sensor Systems
National Semiconductor today introduced two configurable sensor analogue front-end (AFE) integrated circuits (ICs) with unique technology that work together with new tools to fast-track signal path designs for a variety of sensors from major global manufacturers.

Sensor Technology Helps To Keep Sheep Shorn!
TorqSense transducers from Sensor Technology are playing an important role in new product development at Gloucestershire-based Lister Shearing, the oldest and one of the most successful suppliers of animal shearing and clipping equipment in the world. The sensors, which are based on SAW (surface acoustic wave) technology, are being used by the company as an aid to evaluating the performance of miniature electric motors.
New Cherry GS102301 Speed Sensor Ideal for Harsh Environments
Cherry’s new GS102301 geartooth speed sensor is perfect for any application where rugged, dependable speed sensing is required. Tested to SAE J1455, this digital output Hall effect speed sensor is self-adjusting over a wide range of magnetic flux densities, eliminating the need to optimize the sensor position within a small magnetic flux operating range. This feature also compensates for target run out. The single hall plate design is immune...
PCB Piezotronics New MEMS Devices Built on Advanced Plasma-Therm Deep Silicon Etch Technology
PCB Piezotronics (PCB ) has expanded their sensor product line to include several MEMS devices using silicon based technology. Development and production of these sensors has relied on a Plasma-Therm VERSALINE DSE system for several critical deep silicon etching fabrication steps.
