Hamamatsu New High Sensitivity Single Element Thermopile Sensor for Infrared Detection
Hamamatsu Photonics have developed a brand new series of thermopile infrared detectors, to meet the demand for low cost sensors with high S/N for gas analysis applications. The T11262-01 is a high sensitivity thermopile sensor with a D* of 1.3x108. The sensor is housed within a compact TO-18 package with a high transmittance window in the 3-5µm band. The T11262-01 also benefits from a low element resistance and low temperature coefficient of ele...
Reliance Electric Develops and Sells a New Surface Defect Detecting System 'MSC9000' for Coil Centers and the Converting Industry
Reliance Electric is pleased to announce that it has developed the MSC9000 that has a new concept of a surface defect detecting system for the steel plate industry. Sales of the product will begin in October. This new product reflects both the control technology that the company has created from its own line drive applications as well as the techniques for user operation that the company has learned from design applications.
ZMDI 14-Bit Capacitive Sensor Conditioning IC Raises Bar on Accuracy, Linearity, and Temperature for Pressure Sensors
ZMD AG has expanded its family of capacitive sensor signal conditioning devices with the wide-dynamic-range ZSSC3123 integrated circuit. The chip delivers 14-bit resolution and 0.25 % accuracy over a wide range of sensor capacitances and temperatures. Target applications include low power battery driven sensor applications, sensors for humidity, weight scales, load and compression sensing, as well as tension control.
GM Introduces Industry’s First Front Center Air Bag
General Motors will introduce the industry’s first front center air bag, an inflatable restraint designed to help protect drivers and front passengers in far-side impact crashes where the affected occupant is on the opposite, non-struck side of the vehicle.
The modular Approach to Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems
Melexis publicly unveils its second generation solution for TPMS, which combines the MLX91801 Pressure Sensor and MLX72013 RF Transmitter. Further, this TPMS module can be associated to the MLX71122 Multi-Channel RF Receiver in order to build a complete highly integrated solution, compliant with existing Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) systems.
PREMO unveils Hall Effect sensors with Primary integrated
Premo introduces a new series of Hall Effect sensors called the SY series. The new product has been designed for a double supply voltage of ±12 to ±18Vdc. SY family is a closed loop technology component in a very small package for THT mounting. Primary winding is already integrated, which allows to measure DC, AC and pulse currents on printed circuit boards.
Small, Flexible Candlestick Sensor Measures Temperature and Air Velocity
Advanced Thermal Solutions, Inc. the MS 1000-CS-WC that can simultaneously measure both temperature and air velocity for characterizing thermal conditions in electronic systems. The MS 1000-CS-WC candlestick-shaped sensor is narrow and low profile to minimize disturbance of heat flow in the test domain. Its flexible, plastic-sleeved stem eases installation and repositioning during the testing process. It has a plastic base to eliminate any poten...
Highly- Accurate Power-thrifty Temperature Sensor
The new XC3101 series from Torex is a CMOS bandgap-type temperature sensor IC which comes with analog (VAOUT) and alarm (VDOUT) outputs, and consumes only 3.5µA. Its low consumption, combined with its small size, make it well-suited for battery-powered devices or other low-profile power-conscious applications.
Murata launches low cost series of surface mount rotary position sensors aimed at consumer and automotive applications
Murata announced the mass production of the SV03 series of low profile surface mount rotary position sensors. Measuring just 11 x 12 x 2.1 mm and weighing only 0.4 g, these compact sensors are idea for use in a broad range of consumer electronics appliance and are also suited to automotive applications. By detecting the angle of rotation of a switch the sensors provide a cost effective rotary switch and feedback sensor. An example application is ...
