OmniVision announces its smallest full high-definition CameraChip sensor designed for front-facing camera applications in smartphones, tablets and ultrabooks. The new OV2724 delivers high frame rate 1080p/60 HD video with best-in-class sensitivity and dynamic range, and can fit inside a 5 x 5 x 3.5 mm module, making the OV2724 an ideal camera solution for video chat and video conferencing applications on mobile devices.

MEMS technology has been around for some time now and it continues to hover on the periphery of main-stream semiconductor technology. However, some believe monolithic integration is getting nearer, as Philip Ling discovers.

The PSD18-410 series is optimally suited for applications where water or even aggressive media must be measured at low pressures starting at 0 - 100 mbar or at pressures up to 7 bar. The PSD18-410 is an oil-filled stainless steel sensor. With a diameter of just 18 mm, it is very compact and is especially useful in areas where precise measurements are required even when space is very limited.

The new PEWATRON KKD34-701 capacitive pressure sensor handles measurements in the range of 0 - 60 mbar and can be trimmed electronically to 0 - 12 mbar. In addition to this measurement range, it is also possible to make corrections to account for effects arising during assembly by means of an integrated interface. Parameterisation is accomplished with a Windows-compatible, menu-driven kit.

The CCD54 is an intelligent, calibrated and amplified OEM pressure sensor. Its offset correction, sensitivity, temperature drift and linearity are stored in the on-chip EEPROM directly at the factory using the latest ASIC technology. Different initial configurations are possible, such as the response time or supply voltage.

The iC-MHL200 is an integrated system solution for linear and angular magnetic encoder applications. Combined with a target like a magnetic tape or pole wheel an universal and rugged linear or angular incremental encoder can be realized.

Hamamatsu Photonics are proud to introduce the S11638 CMOS linear image sensor with APS (Active Pixel Sensor) technology. APS technology allows the S11638 to achieve a combination of a very high sensitivity, at 160 V/(lx•s), and a fast video data rate of 10 MHz.
