E-Scooter enables sustainable innovation and fun driving

The crowdfunding campaign started on 21st August. While the first funding goal is to ensure the production of the first basic SCOOTERRA model, next steps will also include the extension of the product range. A successful crowdfunding campaign will help to make the SCOOTERRA vision come true: the efficient use of resources, cleaner cities and smart, fun mobility.

The SCOOTERRA crowdfunding also reaches out to interested parties that don’t have the financial means to support the crowdfunding campaign but are invited to spread the word and get others inspired by the SCOOTERRA idea.

"We are no dreamers but we have a great vision," said Co-founder of SCOOTERRA Jasper Häger. "E-mobility definitely has the potential to solve a lot of mobility problems we face today, as e-vehicles are quiet and do not pollute the air. But for most people, the e-cars available on the market today are out of reach or simply not attractive enough.

"They are still too expensive, depend on a comprehensive network of charging infrastructure and have a limited reach. With SCOOTERRA we want to address this dilemma of modern transportation by providing a solution that paves the way for sustainable e-mobility that is affordable for everyone."

According to the company, SCOOTERRA is special - not re-inventing the wheel but taking advantage of the long standing experience of China’s manufacturers. By carefully choosing the best possible quality components, SCOOTERRA makes sure that their products provide technology meeting all regulatory requirements.

What makes SCOOTERRA stand out in the e-scooter market is that their new platform will allow for a maximum freedom of choice of components. First, when it is assembled in production and later on when some parts might require replacement.

An increasing number of people also take environmental issues into consideration but shy away from e-solutions due to high costs. With its 3kW engine, the first SCOOTERRA e-scooter SCOOTERRA ONE reaches a maximum speed of 45km/h, is able to climb mountain roads and has an average reach of 100km. SCOOTERRA ONE has two removable battery cells (1.2kWh, 6kg each) for remote charging at any energy plug with short charging times.

While the basic model SCOOTERRA ONE will be available shortly, it is also planned for the near future to offer clients all components on a modular base so everyone can assemble their customised SCOOTERRA e-scooter according to their needs, wishes, and budget.
