Complete PV power plant BoS solution on show at Intersolar 2017
Under a new partnership between PADCON and Jurchen Technology, PV power plant developers will now be able to access a complete utility scale and commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop solar solution. The partnership, which comes into effect 1st June 2017, will offer a comprehensive balance-of-system (BoS) solution to developers and EPCs from mounting structures and DC cabling, right up to SCADA-based monitoring and potential induced degradation (PID) prevention and reversal solutions.
“With this step, we want to expand our product and service portfolio for our customers,” said Jurchen Technology’s CEO Michael Jurchen. “PV plant operators and owners will now benefit from a comprehensive, full service package from a single source for their plant portfolio worldwide.”
Through the new partnership the two companies will serve international solar markets. The companies will be establishing branch offices in Spain, France, the US, and India, and expand their team with additional staff. In exciting growth markets such as Chile, Australia, Turkey, and Pakistan, the combined offering will be rolled out through an existing network of service partners.
“The partnership will provide SCADA hardware and software components,” said PADCON’s CEO Constantin Wenzlik. “We provide plant monitoring through our in-house control centre and in form of PADCON’s Asset Management Tool, as well as PID (potential induced degradation) solutions.”
PADCON’s PID mitigation solutions have already been deployed widely in Europe, and in Africa, Israel, India and Brazil. Its latest PID offering is the Floating Controller CI70, which can offer PID prevention and recovery in one solution, thanks to day and night operation. It is suitable for application to both 1,000 and 1,500V arrays.
The partnership will offer Jurchen Technology’s complete suite of PV power plant and C&I array products including PV module clamps for dual-glass and framed modules, DC cabling solutions with fuses for 1,000 and 1,500V systems with all sorts of accessories. This includes Jurchen Technology’s newly developed free-field substructure JT-Twin Base TS II that is very easy to install with many less components than its predecessor. The result is a weight and cost reduction of up to 30%.
“Through the corporate history of the two companies, we’re fortunately two sister firms that complement each other in regard to our product portfolioso that sales synergies are meaningful and useful,” added Michael Jurchen. “The customer has only one contact person and negotiating partner. The entire project execution is thus simplified for the customer, something that’s especially noticeable in the case of international project deliveries.”
