XP Power has announced the launch of its JMR03/10/20 series of ultra-compact DC-DC converters, available in 3W, 10W, and 20W models.

These converters feature a broad 4:1 input range, making them highly adaptable to a variety of input requirements. Designed with medical applications in mind, they offer 2 x MOPP (Means of Patient Protection) and boast a leakage current as low as 2µA, facilitating their use in both BF (Body Floating) and CF (Cardiac Floating) rated medical devices.

A key feature of the JMR03/10/20 series is the low no-load input current, which can be as little as 4mA depending on the model. This results in improved efficiency, reduced heat generation, and longer battery life for portable, battery-operated equipment. Their compact form factor also saves significant space on the PCB, providing designers with more flexibility in their layouts. Fully encapsulated for durability, these converters are suited for demanding applications, including medical imaging, patient monitoring, patient treatment, dental equipment, and respiratory care systems.

The JMR03 (3.5W), JMR10 (10W), and JMR20 (20W) models are available with output voltages of 5V, 12V, 15V, ±12V, or ±15V. Additionally, the JMR10/20 series offers a ±5V output. Dual-output models can also be configured to deliver single outputs of 10V, 24V, or 30V. The single output models allow adjustment within a range of -10% to +10%, providing flexibility for non-standard applications. The converters can operate from input voltages of 24V (9.0-36.0V) or 48V (18.0-75.0V), with the JMR03/10 series also supporting a 12V (4.5-18V) input.

With an operational temperature range of -40°C to +100°C, the JMR03/10/20 series is equipped with short circuit and overload protection, along with a remote on/off capability. The isolation voltage between input and output is 5kVac. These models meet safety standards including UL/CSA/IEC/EN 60601-1 and UL62368-1, and carry CE and UKCA markings, adhering to low voltage and RoHS directives.
