Vishay's LDO Voltage Regulator Offers Low 35-μA Ground Current
Vishay Intertechnology has extended its LDO product family portfolio with the release of the new SiP21110 250-mA LDO voltage regulator. The cost-effective device features a low 35-μA typical ground current at a 1-mA load in the space-saving Thin SOT23-5L package.
The The SiP21110 features adjustable output from 1.3V to 5V with an external resistor network, and a high 1.0% output voltage accuracy at +25°C. Its advanced design architecture allows stable operation with very small, low-ESR ceramic output capacitors, reducing board space and component cost. Additional SiP21110 features include excellent transient response, low peak-to-peak transient output voltage with fast recovery time, as well as high PSRR, while consuming a minimum of current.
The device is designed to maintain regulation while delivering 330-mA typical peak current for systems with a high surge current upon turn-on. During start-up, an active pull-down circuit improves the output transient response and regulation. In shutdown mode, the output automatically discharges by connecting the output to ground through a 100-Ω n-channel MOSFET.
For safe operation, the device offers thermal overload (+160°C typical) and built-in short circuit protection (500mA typical), with a 1-μA maximum shutdown current at +85°C. The SiP21110 operates over a junction temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
