UPS system is voltage & frequency independent
Designed to support and protect up to 20kW of clean power to critical single-phase applications, the PowerWAVE 3000/TP UPS system has been released by Uninterruptible Power Supplies. This is a transformerless, true online, double conversion, voltage and frequency independent system. The true online double conversion, which offers up to 97% efficiency, provides power even when there are severe disturbances of the mains supply.
The PowerWAVE 3000/TP is available in 10 and 20kW versions, highlighting the devices flexibility. To increase the power support capability or provide a redundancy situation, up to four units can be situated in parallel. Allowing users to manage two independent sources of power, the UPS system supports single or dual inputs. The device is also field configurable to accommodate single or three phase inputs.
The PowerWAVE 3000/TP can also be used as a frequency converter, where it can transform input frequency from 50 to 60Hz output or vice versa. Removing interference from other equipment on the network, the UPS system provides low harmonic distortion of less than 5% and high active PFC of 0.99.
The PowerWAVE 3000/TP has a tower design with a 350x890x712mm footprint. Simplifying maintenance and reducing the need for external switchgear, the UPS system features an integrated manual bypass switch. To ensure optimised battery management, operation and lifetime, UPS has carried out programmed and automated battery tests.
The device experiences reduced heat losses which maintains a lower operating temperature and further prolongs the lifetime of components and batteries. Stable, regulated, transient-free, pure sine-wave AC power with tight output voltage regulation is provided by the 3000/TP.
Autonomy options include inbuilt or external battery cabinets, both of which provide up to a 16 minute run time.
