UNIPOWER LLC just announced a high voltage DC power supply designed to provide 4kW to 240kW across a very wide of range applications. Models in the general purpose DRC Series feature low ripple, fast transient response and a stable output across a wide variety of line voltages and load impedances. Tolerance of repetitive arcing for both process stability and power supply protection is also a key feature.
The DRC Series uses a compact modular design to provide power densities down to 5.8W/in³ with advanced thermal management for enhanced reliability. Individual units are designed for 19in rack mount with a height of just 10.5in and a depth of 24in.
UNIPOWER can provide both air and water-cooled versions, which is important given the variety and scope of the applications served by these power sources.
Input voltages can be between 187 and 528VAC – single and three phase, with output voltages from 500V to 450kV. All models can provide positive, negative, reversible or floating outputs as options.
The units provide precise regulation of both voltage and current with smooth automatic crossover between constant voltage and constant current modes as the load or command settings change. For the high voltage output section, UNIPOWER will offer a variety of insulation methods suited to the power level and application. These can include air insulation, rubber or epoxy encapsulation and oil-filled tanks.
Front panel LEDs indicate which regulating mode is controlling the supply and a multifunction LCD display shows output levels. Remote analog signal input and optional serial bus control interfaces are also available through the unit’s rear panel.
UNIPOWER has identified many application areas for the DRC Series including Medical and Industrial Lasers, Capacitor Charging, Vapour and Powder Deposition and Sputtering Systems, Military and Aerospace and Electron Ion-Beam and Plasma Etching Systems.
