Intersil has introduced the ISL78010, an automotive-grade TFT-LCD power supply IC. The device is AEC-Q100 rated, fully ISO/TS 16949:2002 compliant and operates over the automotive temperature range (-40 to +105degrees C). It is highly integrated to improve performance and reduce costs associated with powering 7-inch to 15-inch displays. The ISL78010 provides enhanced reliability against transients with its higher voltage capability that protects against stray capacitance and parasitic inductances caused during switching.
The ISL78010 integrates sequencing, regulated charge pumps, 2A FET, and fault protection for each output channel. This integration not only reduces costs and increases available board space, but the reduced component count improves a system’s overall mean time between failure (MTBF). Also, the ISL78010 has four highly accurate output channels for superior performance.

The ISL78010 is designed to deliver up to 20V of boost voltage necessary for mid-size display panels and is available in TQFP package for improved reliability against vibration as well as accommodating visual inspection of pins during board manufacture.

The ISL78010 is available now in a 32-lead TQFP, 5mm x 5mm package.
