SIGA (Electronics) has extended its wound components capability to include design, manufacture and test of a new varied range of transformers, previously manufactured and supplied by Stabilised Transformers.

The move follows SIGA’s acquisition of the business and assets in February of Wolverhampton-based Stabilised Transformers Limited. Their current transformer capability includes open or enclosed types of dry transformers and inductors, and extends through double wound and auto wound components, toroidal wound instrument transformers for current and voltage measurement.

High voltage transformers catering for systems up to 13.8kV and offer capability for motor starting applications up to 5,000kW.

Typical applications for the transformers include renewable energy, airfield lighting, variable speed drives, shipbuilding, mining, telecommunications, switchgear and instrumentation, motor control centres and major utilities encompassing water pumping and purification.

Customers throughout the UK and Europe benefit from SIGA’s in-house transport, export experience and expert handling facilities.

Alex Deakin, Sales Engineer, at SIGA, said: “Customers previously supplied by Stabilised Transformers will continue to enjoy access to products, technology and service, but now delivered through a larger organisation that brings many additional capabilities and opportunities.”

As well as working within an Integrated Management System approved to ISO 9001-2015, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 - wound components can be supplied conforming to international standards, including EN61558, EN60601, and EN60950. Standard and custom toroidal transformers can also be supplied with UL approval to UL506.
