Product portfolio expanded with energy-harvesting components
Fujitsu Electronics Europe (FEEU) is expanding its ultra low power linecard portfolio to include products from the Belgian manufacturer e-peas. Based on years of research, e-peas has developed energy-harvesting solutions with technical parameters. The offered components support a wide range of energy sources such as photovoltaic, thermal, vibration or RF. With the new partnership, FEEU seeks to strategically extend its portfolio and to create new synergies between the offered products and services.
The available AEM10940, which will be followed by the AEM10941 and AEM30940 soon, features an ultra low power boost converter with an efficiency of up to 94% with voltage references, energy management circuitry and LDO regulators.
In addition to the converter efficiency, the product also has a cold start capability at an input voltage of only 380mV and an input power of just 11μW. Another benefit is the low number of external components needed.
“Fujitsu has been supplying the market with FRAM for metering applications for many years. We therefore have a thorough understanding of the challenges involved in powering applications with an operational life of ten years and more. Thanks to the expansion of our portfolio to include e-peas products, we can now offer a high quality alternative to batteries and cable-based power supply,” said Axel Tripkewitz, President and Managing Director of FEEU.
Various synergies arise between the products offered by e-peas and FEEU's existing portfolio, as the Value Added Distribution Partner already offers a wide range of components and services that support the development of low power and IoT solutions. Prominent examples include FRAM as well as Ambiq Micro's MCUs, RTCs and BLE solutions.
“The new partnership goes in line with our ‘best-in-class’ approach,” said Tripkewitz. “Our goal is to offer only carefully selected, leading solutions and to provide our customers with a global gateway to all the products and services that are necessary to make their innovation project a success.”
FEEU will also be presenting the energy-harvesting solutions at embedded world 2018, where it is exhibiting in hall 2, booth 110.
