Operating from inputs of 30-85W, the VOF series of compact, open frame AC-DC power supplies has been announced by CUI. The single-output supplies deliver higher efficiencies, improved no-load performances, and a boost in power versus the previous generation, making them suited for use in ITE, industrial, and consumer electronics applications.

The power supplies can accommodate a wide universal input voltage of 90-277V AC at 47-63Hz input, offering global compatibility for OEM manufacturers. It has been created to provide an industry leading combination of efficiency and competitive pricing. Available in 30, 50, 70, and 85W versions, the power supplies offer output voltage options of 5, 12, 15, 18, 24, 28 and 48V DC depending on the series. All models include output voltage adjustability of ±5% via an onboard potentiometer.

The VOF-30, VOF-50, and VOF-70 models are rated for operation at 100% load from -20 to +50°C, derating to 50% load at +60°C. The VOF-85 operates at 100% load from -20 to +40°C, also derating to 50% load at +60°C. The compact open frame units measure just 101.6x50.75x33.6mm (4.00x2.00x1.32"), with the 30W series shrinking this further to 90x50.8x21.1mm (3.54x2.00x0.83").

Reaching efficiencies of up to 90% and no-load power consumption as low as 0.18W, the VOF series also carries UL/cUL and TUV 60950-1 safety certifications and are qualified for the CE mark, EN 55022 Class B, and FCC Class B EMI standards. Protections for over voltage, over current and short circuit are included as well as primary to secondary isolation voltage of 3kVAC.
