Power converter flies to maintenance rescue
A portable converter from Digicom Power can be used for aerospace industry, construction and military maintenance tasks and in locations where a standard power grid is not available.
At just 6.8kg (15.1lbs), the Geno 400Hz converter model 779 is designed for on-site aircraft maintenance. The 400Hz power converter accepts 100 to 250V AC, 50, 60 and 400Hz single, two, or three-phase inputs and converts the power to 120V AC 60Hz output.
It has been designed particularly with aircraft in mind as the default power on almost everything on an aircraft, as well as ground support equipment at airports and maintenance facilities, is designed for 400Hz, explains the company. The converter has a harmonic distortion of less than 5% and output short-circuit protection. There are four standard outlets with easy access on/off switches, LED status indicators and two internal cooling fans, each with vents containing an air filter that can be removed for cleaning.
