PoE Power sources for Ethernet-Connected Devices Needing Less Than 15W
SL Power Electronics Corporation, the company established following the merger of Condor DC Power and Ault, extends its leadership in power solutions for Power Over Ethernet (PoE) applications with the introduction of Ault’s PW130 PoE power sources and a PoE Line Splitter which has been designed to allow easy integration of PoE technology into legacy equipment.
The desktop style, single output PW130 power supply is designed for a wide range of PoE applications including IP telephones, security identification such as building access control systems, broadcast or recording nodes and wireless/Bluetooth portals. In fact, any device under 15W that can take advantage of network power is a potential application.
Two versions are available, both providing power and data over a single Ethernet cable. The standard model gives users the flexibility to locate the power supply at the end of the network cable whilst the “intelligent” version allows the same flexibility but will only provide power if the “expected” equipment is connected. The latter “intelligent” version is fully compliant to IEEE802.3AF.
Input is from 100 to 250VAC and the output is regulated with low ripple. Overcurrent and short circuit protection are standard. Designed to meet Safety Agency Requirements and to comply with all relevant EMI/RFI regulations, inlet connector can be IEC320-C14 or IEC320-C8.
The LS15 Line Splitter takes 48V and provides outputs of 5, 12 and 24V to allow connected devices such as WebCams, IP phones and access points become PoE enabled. It is also fully compliant to IEEE802.3AF.
