Emerson Network Power today announced the latest addition to its portfolio of 60 W convection cooled open-frame ac-dc power supplies. The new NPS64-M has a 15 Vdc output, which can be adjusted by plus or minus 20 percent, and can deliver up to 4 A.
It has a full load operating temperature range of zero to 50 degrees Celsius, and can be used up to 80 degrees Celsius with suitable de-rating.

Emerson Network Power’s latest NPS64-M power supply carries a comprehensive set of worldwide IT equipment and non-patient contact and non-patient critical medical safety approvals. The model has a compact 2 x 4 inch (51 x 102 mm) footprint and a height of just 1 inch (26 mm), which makes it ideal for use in light industrial, instrumentation and process systems, as well as in low-power dental and laboratory equipment. An optional enclosure kit (LPX50) is available for maximum protection.

The NPS64-M has a peak efficiency of 90 percent, and meets a variety of rigorous energy efficiency standards, including International Efficiency Level V and Energy Star 2.0, as well as being California Energy Commission compliant. It features a wide universal input voltage range of 90 to 264 Vac and is also capable of operating from a 127 to 300 Vdc input. The NPS64-M has a maximum input power requirement of less than 74 W, and a no-load power consumption of less than 300 mW.

Emerson Network Power’s NPS64-M power supply provides tight regulation, maintaining the output voltage to within plus or minus two percent for all standard line and load conditions, and features remote sense capabilities to compensate for a 0.5 V drop in the output cables. The power supply is comprehensively protected against fault conditions and has a high demonstrated mean time between failures of more than 550,000 hours.

The NPS64-M power supply features a built-in CISPR 22 Class B EMI filters, and meets the rigorous EN55022 Class B, FCC Class B and VDE0878PT3 Class B conducted noise standards. The power supply also complies with the EN61000-3-2 harmonic emissions standard. International safety approvals include TUV/UL/CSA/NEMKO/CB 60950/60601-1, CCC and, CE Mark.
