HPS3000 - Emerson Network Power Launches Highest Density Bulk Front End Distributed Power Supply
Emerson Network Power today launched the HPS3000, its highest bulk front-end distributed power supply. The 3,000 W HPS3000 offers enterprise networking professionals and telecommunications system integrators a compact, high-density power solution and a cost-effective alternative to ac-dc rectifiers and other rack-based power options.
The The power supply offers high-efficiency (approximately 92 percent at 50 percent load) and supports a wide operating temperature range of minus 10 to plus 40 degrees Celsius. To provide the highest levels of cooling flexibility, the HPS3000 is available with or without an onboard variable speed fan, allowing customers to use alternative forced-air cooling options. The optional smart fan' is equipped with integrated fan fail and fan s-peed controls to enhance overall energy efficiency. The HPS3000 is also digitally programmable and fully compatible with Emerson Network Power's PMBus™ graphical user interface software, providing customers with real-time test, monitoring and configuration functionality.
The HPS3000 is hot-swappable and features both N+1 redundancy and internal ORing controllers to minimize downtime and enhance overall serviceability. When used under normal operating conditions (25 degrees Celsius ambient at full load), it has a high demonstrated mean time between failures (MTBF) of more than 500,000 hours. Furthermore, as an added measure to ensure industry-leading power continuity, the HPS3000 is comprehensively protected against over voltage (up to 120 percent), short-circuit (up to 130 percent) and over temperature conditions (above 55 degrees Celsius).
The power supply complies with EN5022-B and FCC part 15 Level A EMC standards for conducted noise, including all applicable immunity standards. It also carriers UL/cUL60950 safety approvals and is fully compliant with Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directives. Extra isolation between outputs and chassis make the HPS3000 compliant to Power over Ethernet (PoE) requirements.
