Availability of two series of high-reliability industrial batteries from Yuasa is announced by Gresham Power Electronics. The Yuasa NPL Industrial Battery range offers users complete peace of mind by maintaining system power. They are suitable for industrial applications.

They are suited to being the power source for electronic equipment in industrial applications.

The NPL range is an enhanced version of the established NP design offering a longer service life, from 10-12 years, and complies with IEC 60896-21+22.

All other mechanical and electrical attributes and operational characteristics of NPL range are the same as the original NP series offering users as simple upgrade pathway.

Flame retardant versions of Yuasa NPL batteries are available, the NPL-FR range. The standard case material is flame retardant to (UL94) HBØ while the flame retardant version meets UL94:VØ (oxygen index 30) and complies with BS6290 Part 4 (1997).

Key features of the NPL and original NP rechargeable lead acid battery series include sealed leak proof construction and excellent multipurpose performance in either float or cyclic applications.

Other benefits include superb recovery from deep discharge, electrolyte suspension system and gas recombination, superior energy density and lead calcium grids for extended life. Yuasa VRLA (valve-regulated lead-acid), batteries can be used in any orientation (excluding continuous use inverted).

Karen Jay, Operations manager at Gresham Power Electronics, comments, “We have been using Yuasa batteries in our own defence products for many years and are very impressed with their reliability and operational life. We now always fit flame retardant NPL-FR batteries to all of our own UPS for even greater system security.”

Yuasa NP and NPL batteries are manufactured in the Yuasa UK factory to ISO 9001:2015 and application specific designs are available on request.

Yuasa is also fully committed fulfil its obligations as a “Producer” of Industrial batteriesas described in the Directive 2006/66/EC and the Waste Batteries and Accumulator Regulations 2009 and meets the requirements of ISO 14001 for environmental management.
