Finning delivers back-up generators to healthcare provider

HealthNet Homecare enables the delivery of a range of traditionally hospital-based services, like chemotherapy, from home. It therefore runs two pharmacies in Swadlincote, Derbyshire and Featherstone, Yorkshire, where it stores a large volume of high-value pharmaceuticals in line with specialist storage conditions. Many of these medicines require refrigeration to maintain their effectiveness.

Due to insurance and customer requirements, during the pandemic, HealthNet Homecare needed the rapid delivery of two back-up power solutions that would enable the company to ensure that pharmaceutical storage conditions could be met in the event of a power cut. It contacted Finning UK & Ireland to provide a solution.

“When we received the enquiry from HealthNet Homecare we snapped into action,” explained Leigh Hawkins, Electric Power Retail and Used Equipment Manager at Finning UK and Ireland. “We collaborated with our Yorkshire-based installation partner ABC Power Systems, attended the site for a survey and determined the appropriate equipment.

“Finning’s capabilities to quickly retrofit equipment to meet customer needs were essential to this project. After identifying the Cat D165 for the Featherstone site and a Cat DE200 for Swadlincote, Finning retrofitted additional technology, delivered and installed the complete package in collaboration with ABC Power.”
