Desktop power adapters comply with DoE Level VI and CoC Tier 2 Standards
CUI’s Power Group has announced the addition of 30 and 40W desktop AC/DC power adapters to its portfolio of DoE Level VI and CoC Tier 2 compliant external power supplies.
The SDI30-U, SDI30-UD, SDI40-U, and SDI40-UD series are all designed to meet the current average efficiency and no-load power requirements mandated by the US Department of Energy (DoE) under the Level VI standard. All models also meet the European Union’s (EU) proposed CoC Tier 2 directive, under review to become law in 2018, which looks to further tighten the efficiency requirements enforced by Level VI while adding a new power consumption limit at 10% load levels. Both standards aim to significantly lower the amount of power consumed when the end application is not in use or is no longer connected to the system.
The SDI30 and SDI40 series are available with C8 or C14 inlets and single output voltages of 12, 15, 19, and 24VDC. Both series are housed in a compact package measuring 4.37x2.05x1.27" (111x52x32.3mm) with a wide universal input voltage range of 90 to 264VAC. The adapters carry UL/cUL, GS, PSE, and CE marks and meet the radiated and conducted emission requirements for FCC Part 15B Class B. Protections for over voltage and short circuit are also included.
Featuring no-load power consumption less than 0.075W, these external desktop AC/DC power supplies are well suited for a variety of consumer, industrial, and ITE applications where energy consumption is a concern.
Visit CUI’s booth (#311) at APEC 2017, where the company will be showcasing its Level VI and CoC Tier 2 compliant external adapters and the rest of its power portfolio ranging from 1 to 12,000W. APEC is the premier event for Applied Power Electronics. The conference focuses on the practical and applied aspects of the power electronics industry, and will be held at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida from the March 26th to 30th 2017.
