DC power sources target long life at full power
A series of high-performance bench-top or rack-mount power sources, designed for long life at full power, has been launched by Powersolve. The five models in the SM3300 Series can work from practically any mains supply including three phase, providing the input voltage is between 180V and 528VAC. All models feature active power factor correction with auto-ranging DC outputs on four of them. They can also be operated in serial or parallel configuration.
The power sources feature excellent dynamic response to load changes, protection against all overload and short circuit conditions and excellent EMC characteristics that easily surpass CE requirements. Front panel digital encoders allow for ease of use, providing digital voltage and current setting as well as an Ethernet interface for programming and monitoring. A USB port allows for the exchange of settings and waveforms.
Produced by DeltaElektronika, the SM3300 Series can be programmed to provide a very wide range of voltage and current outputs to suit all types of test, simulation and power source applications including battery simulation, automotive test equipment, solar inverter testing and as an accurate current source. Output voltages can be up to 660V while output current can be between 0 and 220A.The input current is limited to 16A.
A number of options are available including field installable interfaces such as PROFIBUS, CANBUS and RS232 and a two-quadrant output which keeps the output voltage constant even if the output power is positive or negative –making the unit suited for PWM speed-controlled DC motors and ATE systems. A high speed programming option gives a 10 to 20 times increase in programming speed and lower output capacitance.
Models in the SM3300 Series are housed in an IP20 rated 19in x 2U enclosure weighing 15kg.
