Torex Semiconductor has developed the new XC6142 series voltage detector, specifically designed for CV (constant voltage) charging secondary batteries with an operating temperature of 105°C.

The XC6142 series is a battery voltage monitoring IC optimised for 2.3V lithium secondary batteries, such as LTO batteries, including newly developed semi-solid-state batteries. Designed to work alongside the XC6242 charging regulator IC, it supports battery operation at temperatures up to 105°C.

The XC6142 series features detection and release voltages optimised for the characteristics of 2.3V lithium secondary batteries. The detection voltage can be selected between 1.6V and 2.1V to match the internal resistance of the battery. The release voltage is fixed at 2.450V, which is set at an optimal level for initiating charging with the XC6242 charging regulator IC.

By using the XC6142 battery voltage monitor together with the XC6242 charging regulator, a simple, compact, low-power, and cost-effective charging solution can be implemented for 105°C batteries used in high-temperature industrial applications – without the need for conventional charging ICs that require complex control.

The package lineup includes the ultra-compact and low-profile USPQ-4B05 (1.0 x 1.0 x 0.33mm) as well as the SSOT-24 package, contributing to the miniaturisation of devices.

Torex will continue to swiftly develop products that meet market needs and contribute to a richer and more abundant society.
