Baseplate-cooled AC-DC power supplies from TDK-Lambda deliver 1000W
TDK-Lambda UK, a group company of the TDK Corporation, introduces the CPFE1000F range of baseplate-cooled AC-DC power supplies for applications requiring 1000W bulk power. As with the existing lower power CPFE500F modules, the CPFE1000F is conduction cooled and therefore does not require a fan thus satisfying applications that need high power but cannot use fans or where the unit is sealed in an enclosure.
The Operating from a universal input of 90 to 265Vac with PFC, the CPFE1000F can be paralleled together with active current share to accommodate increased power requirements and/or redundancy. A power on signal, opto-isolated remote on/off, and remote sense (which compensates up to 500mV cable drop) are included, as are short circuit, over voltage and over temperature protection circuitry with auto recovery. The standard I2C interface allows engineers to interrogate the output voltage/current, base plate temperature, manufacturing location/date and serial number of the CPFE1000F. In addition, the positive logic remote on/off control, inverter operation good (IOG), DC good functions, and over temperature warning are ideal for monitoring and controlling the power supply remotely and in high-availability systems.
TDK-Lambda supplies the CPFE1000F with a protective coating to guard against the ingress of dust, moisture and other contaminants making it ideal for harsh, dusty or outdoor applications, such as broadcast, food processing, LED signage, COTS military and print & packaging applications. Since there is no fan, the CPFE series is equally well-suited to low audible noise applications, such as audio mixing desks and recording studios. All models in the CPFE1000F range are delivered with TDK-Lambda's two-year warranty and meet EN55022/EN55011 Class B and MIL-STD-461E/462D CE102 EMC specifications thus simplifying system design. Safety agency approvals for the CPFE1000F include UL60950-1 and EN60950-1 (Ed. 2) and CSA 22.2 No 60950-1 as well as CE-marking according to the LV Directive.
