COSEL launch high efficiency power supplies for medical applications
COSEL has unveiled its new WMA series of compact, high-efficiency power supplies designed for medical applications.
The series encompasses the WMA-F and WMA-H families, offering a universal input range of 85 to 264VAC across three power levels: 35W, 75W, and 100W for the WMA-F, and 150W and 350W for the WMA-H, with two input voltage ranges that are switch selectable.
Geared towards medical system integration, the WMA series meets international safety standards for medical applications, featuring 2MOPP (IN/OUT) and 1MOPP (IN/FG) isolation grades. Leveraging the latest power switching technologies, these units provide an excellent balance of price and performance, making them ideal for high-quality medical power solutions. Additionally, the WMA series is suitable for challenging industrial applications that require high isolation, as specified in Over Voltage Category III. The WMA-35-75-100F and WMA-150H are optimised for convection cooling, while the WMA-350H includes a fan for enhanced performance in demanding scenarios.
Recognising the medical industry's need for slim-profile power supplies, the WMA series boasts a height of just 30mm, aligning with the industry-standard 1U size limit. With years of expertise, COSEL's power designers have crafted a platform that strikes a perfect balance between cost, efficiency, and reliability. The series achieves up to 91% efficiency at high line, and its streamlined component use enhances reliability and reduces costs. The WMA series also addresses industrial needs, such as semiconductor manufacturing equipment, adhering to SEMI F47 standards and meeting Over Voltage Category III requirements.
The series includes five models: WMA35F, WMA75F, WMA100F, WMA150H, and WMA350H, covering a power range from 35W to 350W, with various single output voltage options. Both WMA-F and WMA-H series can operate within specified AC voltage ranges, with the WMA-H featuring switchable voltage ranges.
Designed with inrush current limiting, overcurrent, and overvoltage protection, the series operates in temperatures from -20 to +70°C, subject to derating based on assembly and cooling conditions. The series meets stringent isolation requirements with 2MOPP and 1MOPP compliance and is approved according to multiple international standards.
While the WMA35-75-100F lacks built-in active PFC, it still complies with IEC61000-3-2 (Class A). The WMA150-350H may need external power factor correction circuitry, depending on the application. The series' EMI emissions comply with several standards, ensuring minimal interference.
Built on an aluminium chassis and enclosed in a galvanised steel case, the units' sizes and weights vary, with the WMA35F being the most compact and the WMA350H the largest.
Ideal for medical and industrial applications, the WMA series offers a blend of small size, excellent cost-performance ratio, and high quality. The series boasts a five-year warranty and conforms to European RoHS and Low Voltage Directives, solidifying COSEL's commitment to delivering efficient and reliable power solutions for demanding applications.
