Campbell Collins Ltd announces the release of a new DC/DC Power Supply from MTM Power of Germany intended for Wind Energy applications utilising high voltage Li-Ion battery or Ultra Capacitor energy storage.
Based on the hugely successful PCMDS150 family, the PCMDS150350S series has an ultra wide input voltage range of 100-450Vdc which is designed to accommodate direct connection to the battery pack of most Wind Energy plants. This also makes it suitable for many PV installations. Single outputs of 12V, 13.8V, 24V, 27.6V, 48V and 53.6V are available, and the device offers up to 150W of usable power to the load, with no minimum load requirements. Efficiency of the unit is as high as 90%.

Thermoselective vacuum encapsulation is utilised to offer a completely sealed unit which is highly resistant to dust, humidity, shock and vibration. This also offers excellent heat dissipation to the attached baseplate or optional heatsink. Measuring just 170mm x 115mm x 38mm for the baseplated version, and 160mm x 115mm x 65mm for the heatsink version, the unit uses either screw terminals or spring terminals depending on user preference. For use in even more rugged environments, IP65 rated connectors are also available as an option. For total installation flexibility, a DIN-Rail mounted version is also offered.

Standard operating temperature range is -40degC to +70degC, and safety features such as Over Current protection, Short Circuit protection and Reverse Polarity protection are included. Control features such as an energy saving Remote On/Off function and a Power Good signal are also included as standard to ease integration into customers’ systems.
