Automotive-grade ESD suppressors protect against multiple strikes
Compact AXGD series Xtreme-Guard ESD suppressors by Littelfuse can be used in automotive antennae, RF antenna systems and infotainment. The compact, surface mount, polymer automotive-grade suppressors are capable of protecting sensitive devices from contact/air discharges as high as 30kV.
They are specifically designed for high frequency, high speed applications with high voltage ratings (up to 32VDC) and extreme ESD protection requirements, said the company. Even after multiple ESD strikes, they maintain low leakage of less than 1nA. The low capacitance ensures compatibility with high-speed data line applications, adds the company.
The surface-mount ESD suppressors are available in 0603 or 0402 footprints. They have a rigid and flat top cover to simplify pick-and-place assembly and allow for more compact circuit board designs.
The AEC-Q200 qualified design offers a level of ESD suppression capability that is competitive with or superior to popular TVS diodes and other ESD suppressors, claims the company, yet with much lower capacitance and leakage current and higher voltage ratings.
The XGD10402 devices offer a voltage rating of 24VDC and the XGD10603 devices are rated at 32VDC to provide a wide voltage range for a selection of electronic devices. The low capacitance ( 0.04pF for XGD10402 and 0.09pF for XGD10603 versions) makes them particularly suitable for high frequency and high speed data, video, antenna, and I/O circuits.
There is a choice of two package sizes, in both tape and reel format: XGD10402 devices are provided in 0402 packages and XGD10603 devices are provided in 0603 packages.
